Antique Art Nouveau William B. Kerr Glass Inkwell w/ Sterling Cap GREEN MAN For Sale

Wonderful, heavy Art Nouveau expressive repousse design. They were known for grotesque or green man patterns. This top shows a man face and a cherub, perhaps angel above. It is monogrammed GDS this is a family heirloom passed down through several generations. Ca 1880. The top at some point separated from the base and I have just kept it that way there is some chipping around the rim of the ink wall and some scratching on the bottom. it is Marked Sterling with the William B, Kerr and Company, Mark to the right and 1063 which corresponds to their catalog professional line.
