Antique 2-piece vanity dressing table set from the Art Nouveau era (circa 1890–1915).
The set includes a matching hand mirror and natural-bristle hairbrush.
Both pieces showcase a classic, high-relief repoussé poppy floral and flowing ribbon scrollwork motif characteristic of the Jugendstil/Art Nouveau period. The central cartouche on the back of each piece features a beautifully hand-engraved, stylized Old English/Gothic monogram initial.
Material & Marks: The set is clearly stamped "GERMAN SILVER" on the handles, indicating a durable antique nickel-copper-zinc alloy made to replicate the appearance of sterling silver without the premium cost.
Condition Details: This set is in antique condition with a heavy, authentic aged patina. The brassy tones of the alloy are starting to peek through the darker oxidation, which beautifully highlights the floral relief work.
There is a small spot of green verdigris oxidation on the edge of the brush. The natural bristles are firmly intact with expected coloration from age, and the mirror glass remains clear and securely housed.
