Apollo Silver Co. was associated with Bernard Rice's Sons of New York and is known for its early 20th-century silverplate decorative wares, including Art Deco smoking and desk accessories.
The hinged lid opens to a cedar-lined interior divided into three compartments. The cedar still retains a light natural wood fragrance. Originally intended as a cigarettebox, this handsome piece also works beautifully today for jewelry, watches, cufflinks, keepsakes or other small treasures.
The underside is marked APOLLO A1446.

Condition:
Good antique condition with age-appropriate surface wear, including light scratches, spotting, and areas of discoloration/patina. The interior surface of the lid has an aged area in the center where the finish is less reflective than the surrounding surface, as shown in the photos. This is cosmetic only. There is also a more noticeable scratch on the underside. The cedar-lined interior shows minor signs of age and use and still retains a light natural cedar fragrance.
