Antique, early 20th century piece
An early, steel/enamel bowl. Appears to be a dog\'s water dish/bowl.
Would make a lovely wall-hung, decorate plate... in that fun, bright, vibrant folk-art/americana kind of way.

Has an image of a white dog staring down a yellow bird that is resting on the edge of his water bowl.. makes me stop and ponder so many things... are they friends? Is this a routine for the pair? Is the bird about to drink or take a bath...hmm.
It\'s a little rough around the edges has that been-there-done-that patina, but still continues to have all that vibrant color and energy about the piece.

Snoopy was a white dog... snoopy had a tiny, yellow, bird friend that would sit on a red dog bowl...this piece is early... earlier than snoopy... makes ya wonder at least a little bit doesn\'t it? (see last pic in the series... seriously..). I think someone got some inspiration here whether or not they realized it... (my wife thinks I am crazy to be jumping to these conclusions btw).
Snoopy started coming out in print in the 1950s... but based on the dog that Schulz had as a teenager... so the timeline is pretty convincing that, circa ~1930s, this might have been a bowl actually in daily use in people\'s home (like Schulz) and maybe rubbed off a little bit on the budding artist...
