Three bowls of a graduated set of bowls made by the A. E. Hull Pottery Company of Crooksville, Ohio from 1905 – 1917.
This set is part of the iconic "Gothic" (or Gothic Arches) pattern line.
This category of ceramics is known as yellow ware, because it was crafted from a dense, natural yellow clay body.
The "Gothic" pattern features an ornate, deeply embossed design resembling rows of cathedral or gothic windows/arches encircling the body. It often includes an intricate band of leaves or flowers near the shoulder rim.
There is a #430 on the bottom of the largest bowl. The embossed number "430" is Hull's mold stock number designated specifically for this Gothic utility/mixing bowl shape.
Condition overall is outstanding, some crazing.
Pictures: 12, 13 & 14. Smallest Bowl, no problems.
Pictures: 15, 16, 17 & 18. Medium Bowl, hairline crack on bottom (not bad, but there). Please see picture 18, there is an indentation on rim. It is under the glaze, no problem, but please take a look. Small flaw, see pic 16.
Pictures: 19, 20 & 21. Largest Bowl, no problems. Small flaw, see pic 20.
No chips. Glaze is great. Three bowls together is wonderful.
