Advertising stoneware rare triple rust banded rolling pin made by Western Stoneware Company located in Monmouth, Illinois for the W. E. Lyon coal company in Carthage, Illinois. According to the "Western Stoneware Co. Factory Orders For Stenciled Advertising Rolling Pins 1915-1953" catalog, the store placed their order of 200 these rolling pins on June 3rd, 1915.

Condition:
In good antique condition. One edge has typical manufacturing stilt marks that may resemble small chips or scuffs. There is one separate chip on the edge, shown in photo #7. Crazing is present throughout the stoneware consistent with age.
A loose object can be heard rattling inside the pin. The handles are screwed on very tightly and have not been removed, so the object could not be identified. Based on the sound, it does not appear to be stoneware and may be a piece of wood or another softer material.
The wooden handles have a nice aged patina. Any additional minor glaze or paint skips, glaze pops, or similar surface irregularities are consistent with the manufacturing process.
