Condition
Antique pre-owned condition, well preserved and mechanically functional. The adjustable height mechanism moves freely and the original spring-loaded mechanism operates properly. Displays an attractive aged metal patina with surface oxidation, discoloration and normal wear consistent with age.

Antique adjustable bench-top bottle capper, dating from the early home-brewing/bottling era and displaying the classic construction associated with Prohibition-era bottle-capping equipment.
This is a substantial all-metal manual capper featuring an adjustable notched height mechanism, long operating lever, spring-loaded capping head and heavy rectangular mounting base.
MECHANICALLY FUNCTIONAL:
The adjustable mechanism moves freely through its positions, and the original spring-loaded mechanism operates properly. The lever moves as intended.

The capper remains in well-preserved antique condition with surface oxidation, darkened patina, finish wear and other age-related characteristics visible throughout.
It has intentionally not been cleaned, polished or restored, allowing the original aged surface and character to remain intact.
These early manual cappers were used for sealing bottled beverages such as beer, soda and root beer and are strongly associated with the early home-bottling/home-brewing era. Comparable period cappers were marketed and used during the Prohibition period.
