I am unsure if this stove has been restored or if it is just in exceptional original condition.
The inscription reads “Ancne mon godin dequenne & cie a laeken no 116”
It is 33” tall (31” without handle) 13” across and deep.
The Godin brand was founded by Jean Baptiste Andre Godin in 1840. Godin became renowned for its innovative use of cast iron and unique porcelain enameling in stove construction. Only a few of this model can be found in North America.
I have traced the date of this stove to around 1890.
