Fine antique 'Coronation 1937 - The Indian Defence Services', issued for the India Office by Adams Bros. & Shardlow Ltd., with coloured illustrations by W. Luker Jun. An illustrated official publication produced for the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, dated 12th May 1937, describing the Indian Army, Indian States Forces, Royal Indian Navy and the newly formed Indian Air Force, and their representatives at the Coronation.
This copy having been annotated by members of the visiting Coronation contingents. The title page is inscribed by Captain Shama Rao of Mysore, together with Subedar Major Sau La and Subedar Bn Kyaw of Mandaly, Burma, the latter two confirmed in the official nominal roll of the small Burma Coronation Contingent.
