Unique antique Art Deco compact dating to approximately the 1920s–1930s. This round silver-tone piece features a beautiful black enamel exterior decorated with a large purple and lavender floral motif.
Originally made as a small portable cosmetic compact, the interior was later repurposed or converted for use as a cigarette snuffer/portable ash receptacle. The piece has an unusual watch-inspired form with a decorative stem and knob at the top, giving it the appearance of an oversized pocket watch or pendant when closed.
A particularly interesting survivor because of its combination of early cosmetic accessory design and later repurposed use. Displays beautifully as an Art Deco vanity, compact, or tobacciana collectible.
