Antique 1915-1919 PYREX Glass Cake Pie Plate #221, 9\" diameter
This plate shows the early version of the PYREX molded backstamp that includes \"PYREX\" in serif font as well as the so called \"$\" Stamp above and below the word PYREX. This is actually the Corning Glassworks \"CG\" monogram but looks like a backward \"$\" so is often confused as such.
In May 1919, the backstamp design was changed so this plate is older than that date.
This early model has the design number (221) molded into the rim of the plate instead of on the backstamp. On the opposite rim are the letters \"N C\". (See the photos.)
This plate was made from the original strong borosilicate glass composition vice the common (and more fragile) lime soda glass used today.

About my store:

• I live in a smoke-free home. That said, I source my items for sale primarily from thrift stores as well as estate & garage sales. So, their environment is sometimes unknown. If I walk into an estate sale in which I can tell was a smoking household, I will leave. Additionally, if I detect an odor on an item at a thrift store, I will not purchase.
• When feasible, I will pack items with used packaging (boxes, bubble wrap, etc). This cuts down on shipping-related expenses (so I can charge you less) and cuts down on waste.
• For many items, I am open to negotiating offers.
• While I try to be as accurate as possible when describing the condition of an item, everyone\'s view is somewhat subjective. So, Please examine the photos carefully as they are usually the best indication of an item\'s condition.
• Because I live in the Denver area, I come across a fair number of items from the various Pro and College Sports Teams. If you are looking for a particular item or team, please let me know.
