Up for sale is an exceptionally beautiful, museum-quality piece of early American shaving history: an authentic first-generation Gem Cutlery Co. "Lather Catcher" Safety Razor frame.Founded in 1898 by former Kampfe Bros. employee Jerry Reichard, Gem Cutlery produced some of the finest shaving implements of the Victorian era. This deluxe, early-production model features a striking brass head adorned with ornate Victorian scrollwork engraving and a premium, dark turned rosewood/ebony wood handle in excellent condition.Distinct Historical Stamping & Markings:

• Back Shield: Beautifully engraved with "Gem Cutlery Co.", "Gem Safety Razor", and "New York, U.S.A."
• Clamping Guard: Explicitly stamped with "Pat. Dec 2/98" (U.S. Patent) and "Eng. Pats Dec 27/98" (British Patent).
