ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CABINET CARD PORTRAIT – MRS. WILLIAM M. NEGUS ("GRANDMA NEGUS")

Up for sale is a rare, historically significant late-19th-century Victorian cabinet card portrait featuring the side profile of Mrs. William M. Negus (Elizabeth Pangburn Negus).

The Negus surname is legendary in American maritime history, famously known for the T.S. & J.D. Negus Company of Manhattan—the premier 19th-century manufacturers of marine chronometers and nautical instruments for the U.S. Navy and global shipping merchant fleets. Her husband, William M. Negus, was a prominent New York civic executive and Secretary of the New York Oyster Dealers' Association during the harbor trade's golden era.
