Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible antique Victorian-era miniature gentleman's vest pocket knife featuring the rare Curley's Patent (December 8, 1885) multi-tool mechanism. Measuring exactly 2 inches long when closed, this miniature piece was originally designed to be worn on a gentleman's watch fob chain.
Key Features & Condition Details:
Mechanics: Includes a primary pen blade, a secondary blade, a manicure file/cleaner spike, and a folding pair of scissors.
Rare Working Scissors: The spring mechanism for the scissors is fully intact and functional! This is incredibly rare for a miniature knife of this age, as these delicate springs are usually broken or missing.
Handle Scales: Features beautifully detailed scrollwork with a stylized, hand-engraved cursive "C" monogram on one side. The handles have a deep, attractive historic patina. They appear to be nickel silver or high-quality silver plate (untested for silver purity). The lanyard bail/loop is fully intact.
Blades: The steel blades show heavy age-related rust pitting and oxidation typical of a 140+ year old piece. Due to this pitting, any original manufacturer tang stamps are no longer readable.
