1844 legal document, English on Vellum. To All and To Whom. The Reverend Edward William Grinfield Marriage Settlement document. The Reverend Edward William Grinfield is a renowned biblical scholar and author of many works, books, manuscripts in the British Museum. Also well-known in Oxford, where he had set up an endowment of lectures.
Measures 27-1/2" x 22". It is double sided, signed, with wax seal, silver pin, tax stamp. Also comes with additional information that was photo copied of Appointment in 1971 when this was framed. This item is no longer framed. It will be shipped as 2 items (one vellum Appointment, all true and authentic. Second piece is 4 photo copies with providence pertaining to the document on hard board.) See all photographs. There is some wear and tear damage due to age of 175 years. There is possibly moisture damage from an early date lower to mid left. Please see all pictures.
There is also a later date on back of Appointment from the Land Registry of 1869, which was created by Her Majesty of England and Wales in 1862. Tax Stamp has 1 pound 15 shillings with a silver pin. Tax Stamp is from London.
