An authentic ancient Egyptian miniature kohl jar (cosmetic ointment pot) expertly hand-carved from translucent honey-banded calcite alabaster.

Dating to the Bronze / Iron Age in Pharaonic Egypt, this classic form features a broad everted disc rim, short tapered neck, high shoulder, and pear-shaped body. Originally crafted to hold kohl eye makeup or scented unguents, this vessel demonstrates traditional ancient stone-drilling techniques and displays a gorgeous aged surface patina.
