This is an authentic vintage mid-century modern glass piece from the highly collectible Royal Ruby line by Anchor Hocking, originally produced in the United States starting in 1938.
Crafted in a rich, vibrant deep crimson red, this round 4-inch pressed glass piece features distinct vertical pillar ribbing along the exterior walls, a decorative multi-point starburst/sunburst pattern pressed into the base, and sits elevated on three small knob feet. The gently scalloped or fluted upper rim is designed with integrated slots intended as cigarette rests.
Because of its stunning color and classic geometric design, this versatile collectible is highly sought after today. While manufactured as an ashtray, it is frequently repurposed and displayed as a catch-all trinket dish, key holder, small candy dish, or a striking pop of vintage accent color.
