Offered is a first-print copy of The Amazing Spider-Man #361 (1992), featuring the first full appearance of Carnage! Written by David Michelinie with artwork by Mark Bagley, this landmark issue begins the three-part Carnage storyline running through #361–363.
Story — “Carnage, Part One”:
Serial killer Cletus Kasady bonds with an offspring of the Venom symbiote, becoming the terrifying Carnage. Armed with shape-shifting abilities and driven by Kasady’s murderous impulses, this new enemy unleashes violence that brings him into conflict with Spider-Man. Peter must confront a foe whose brutality makes an already powerful symbiote even more dangerous.
This issue marks a major moment in Spider-Man’s history and the expansion of Marvel’s symbiote mythology. Bagley’s distinctive artwork establishes Carnage’s recognizable appearance, from his red-and-black coloring to his twisting tendrils and bladed limbs. A notable issue for collectors of Spider-Man, Carnage, Venom, and 1990s Marvel key comics.
