Up for sale is a raw copy of Marvel Comics Amazing Spider-Man #252. This 1984 key is the first appearance of Spider-Man\'s black costume, the suit that later became the Venom symbiote. This copy has great eye appeal, with a glossy, vibrant cover. Please note: this copy has two added staples (details below) and is sold as-is.
Condition Details (Raw, Sold As-Is: Added Staples)
- Collector Care: This vintage book is stored in a smoke free and climate controlled collection. I have not pressed or cleaned it. This is a newsstand edition.
- Added Staples: It appears the cover was reattached at some point. Two non-original staples were added next to the original staples. The extra staples are visible at the centerfold and along the spine (see photos). The cover is currently attached. CGC treats added staples as a grade defect, not restoration. They lower the grade, and CGC notes them.
- Front Cover: Presents well, with strong gloss and vivid colors. The red background and black costume really pop. There are color-breaking spine ticks along the spine and a slight dog-ear fold at the bottom outer right corner
- Back Cover: Bright, featuring a classic Parker Brothers Frogger advertisement. The corner fold noted above is visible at the bottom left.
