Handwritten and signed letter. Written on both sides of a single sheet of 7 x 5 1/2 inch bright parchment-colored notepaper.
This is the final leaf of a letter compilation. From Crowley to Frieda Harris [Lady Harris], Undated, almost certainly June 1941, Torquay, England.
Crowley mentions that he is shortly to move from the Thames Hotel, Maidenhead, into a boarding house [Laskell Gardens] which he did on June 21, 1941. The note is headed with Crowley's sigillic symbol for the Tarot, and is largely on matters concerning that.He writes scathingly, as always, of "Michael" [Michael Houghton of the Atlantis Bookshop] whom he seems to have loathed, yet with whom he was was frequently in contact regarding grand projects - which never bore fruit - and the sale of books. He also alludes to Nicholson & Venn, who held the exhibition of the tarot card originals, and with whom he was in conflict, and writes "I should like a package of catalogues, with the names of any liars and thieves cut out" - thereby confirming, once and for all, why so many of the surviving Nicholson and Venn Thoth exhibition catalogues have had their title pages mutilated.
In conclusion, Crowley signs off with "Love, 666"
From the collection of former Crowley associate, Edward Noel Fitzgerald, (1908-1958), Frater Agape, a IX degree member of the O.T.O. who was also a friend of Lady Harris and acquired it and other correspondence directly from her.
A few light marks, a horizontal mailing fold and light age/handling wear. Very good condition.
