The product is an authentic 1951 US Army Medical Dept. , never used, in original package. The design features a maroon caduceus symbol and date, which is rare.
This is a vintage 100% wool military blanket produced by the North Star Woolen Mill Co. The tag indicates a contract date of October 15, 1951, placing it in the Korean War era.It is identified by stock number 7-158-000 andspecification MIL-B-844. Similar blankets from this era and manufacturer are often sought after for their historical significance. It measures approximately 58 to 68 inches in width and 80 to 92 inches in length. Due to its age, there are a few discoloration and some bleeding of the marron thread, but it is 75 years old. Please see photos. It is in its original packaging, which is torn due to aging , but the balnket has never been used.
