Up for sale is this vintage, flambe-glazed art pottery bowl. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This low bowl or brush washer has beautiful glazing. The exterior has a blue flambe, and the interior is green and white with pink in between. The clay body is white pottery or porcelain. The bowl is approximately 1 3/8 inches tall, with a maximum diameter of about 4 3/4 inches. Unpacked, this pot weighs 7.7 ounces. This would be a pretty addition to a collection of Asian ceramics.Identification
This unmarked bowl is believed to be Chinese, based on form and glazing. The exact age is not known, but it is at least vintage in age, possibly antique. Condition
This attractive bowl looks good overall, but it is not in perfect condition. It has fine crazing. It has a vertical hairline crack from the rim downward. The bottom has some chipping and the clay foot was ground off when this was made; the glaze on the bottom side has grinding marks, as made, also. The bowl has some scattered wear scratches.
