Antique French empire circa 1890’s rare double inkwell. Fabulous heavy metal detail throughout. Each of the lids opens to reveal a place for either a glass or porcelain well to hold the ink which is currently gone but a replacement should be pretty easy to find. Not sure what the metal is perhaps solid brass or gold over bronze? Exceptional in every way!
Measures 10 1/2 inches wide, 7 inches deep and has a height of 5 1/2 inches. In very good antique condition. No breaks or repairs. The two ink holder inserts are gone as mentioned above.
