Uncertain when this was done or where it was originally published, most likely from a book. By Abraham Bogardus (1822-1908) according to the Eastman Museum in New York which has a similar engraving.Image is detailed. Age related condition with edge discoloration and small tears.

James Gillespie Blaine(January 31, 1830– January 27, 1893) was an American statesman andRepublicanpolitician who representedMainein theUnited States House of Representativesfrom 1863 to 1876, serving asSpeaker of the U.S. House of Representativesfrom 1869 to 1875, and then in theUnited States Senatefrom 1876 to 1881.
Blaine twice served asSecretary of State, first in 1881 under PresidentJames A. GarfieldandChester A. Arthur, and then from 1889 to 1892 under PresidentBenjamin Harrison. He is one of only two U.S. Secretaries of State to hold the position under three separate presidents, the other beingDaniel Webster. Blaine unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for President in1876and1880before being nominated in1884. In the1884 general election, he was narrowly defeated byDemocraticnomineeGrover Cleveland. Blaine was one of the late 19th century\'s leading Republicans and a champion of the party\'smoderate reformist faction, later known as the \"Half-Breeds\".
