Authentic antique Russian samovar manufactured by the renowned V.S. Batashev Steam Samovar Factory of Tula, Russia, one of the most celebrated samovar makers of the late Imperial Russian period.
This impressive large-format example features numerous engraved exhibition award medallions commemorating prizes and honors received by the factory at Russian and international expositions. Visible awards include examples referencing Paris and other late 19th and early 20th century exhibitions, a hallmark characteristic of high-quality Batashev production.
Constructed of nickel-plated brass with elegant scroll handles, decorative pedestal base, original spigot, and original central chimney tube. Unlike many converted examples, the original fire tube remains intact. The samovar appears to have been adapted for electric heating at some point during the mid-20th century, but retains its original structural components and impressive visual presence.
A striking decorative object and an excellent addition to collections of Russian antiques, tea culture, European decorative arts, or Imperial Russian metalwork.
