This is a Gorgeous and rare antique European processional banner. These 19th century ecclesiastical church banners are rare to find, especially the European ones.
This is a wonderful banner featuring an image of a Guardian Angel in the center with various metallic fabric around it, metallic gold braid trim around the edge as well as around the applique, and gold metallic fringe at the bottom.
It measures 27” by 48”. There is the original wood dowel at the top and a chain at the top. There is the usual timeworn discoloration to the material as well a crackling to the painted applique. This very rare piece from Europe.
