ANTIQUE BLAKEMAN & HENDERSON LIMOGES HAND PAINTED GAME BIRD CABINET PLATE EC For Sale

Beautiful antique game bird cabinet plate made in Limoges, France in the early 1900s. The mark of the exporting company, Blakeman & Henderson, is on the back, as is the "Limoges, France" mark of an unknown maker, known as Mark #3 in Gaston's Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain.

This piece measures 10 1/4" in diameter and has embossed and scalloped edges with thin gilt trim. It is entirely hand-painted, featuring a portrait of some type of brightly-colored game bird (pheasant?) standing among the grasses on a yellow-green background. I don't see an artist's signature anywhere. This plate is in excellent condition with no damage at all to the porcelain and no wear to the painting, except for some light rubbing to the gilt trim. It has a hole predrilled in the foot for hanging on a wall or can be displayed on a shelf. This is a gorgeous piece that any floral Limoges collector would adore!
