925 Silver, 999 Gold Plated Blessed Cross Crucifixion of Christ & Mother of God
The front of the cross depicts the Crucifixion with the Mother of God and John the Baptist standing before it. Above is the Lord Almighty, holding an open book. This image represents the Lord as the Heavenly King and Judge. Along the edge of the cross is inscribed the protective prayer, \"May God arise.\"
On the back of the cross is the Valaam Icon of the Mother of God. This icon is revered as miraculous, and prayers are made before it for healing from illnesses.
Archangels surround the image on all four sides. At the top is Archangel Uriel, who, holding a flame in his hands, ignites the hearts of men with love for God. On the left is Archangel Michael, the leader of the Lord\'s army. On the right is Archangel Gabriel, God\'s messenger. Below is Archangel Raphael, considered the most powerful healer. A prayer is inscribed along the edge of the cross: \"Christ, the Sun of Righteousness, sent you forth like rays illuminating the Russian land, O saints of God, who have shone forth from our generation. Therefore, pray to Him, O saints, to dispel the cloud of unbelief that now envelops us and to grant us peace and great mercy.\"
