Group of 8 vintage U.S. Army Great Seal eagle uniform buttons.
Each gilt/gold-tone metal button features the Great Seal of the United States with spread-wing eagle, shield, olive branch, arrows and stars.
The backs are marked SUPERIOR QUALITY.
An especially interesting feature of this group is that most of the buttons remain sewn to remnants of the original dark uniform fabric and tan lining/material. They appear to have been cut directly from a military uniform rather than collected individually.
The SUPERIOR QUALITY backmark is documented on American uniform buttons over an extended period and cannot by itself establish an exact manufacturing date. No Civil War or specific conflict attribution is being made.
