A set of seven (7) white china (ceramic)bowls (cereal-bowl-sized) with yellow or gold trim as part of a set of tableware whose plates feature the\"Sunflower\" or \"Yellow Flower\" yellow pattern, manufactured by Royal China (U.S.A.) as part of their Cavalier Ironstone line of tableware.
Each bowl is approximately 1.5\" tall and just under 6.5\" in diameter at the rim. Together the set weighs about 4 lbs. 5 oz.
This set is collectible because it belonged to the familyofFrank Balistrieri(1918-1993) of the Balistrieri family noted in the history of organized crime inMilwaukee, Wisconsin, a family whose story is partly told in the 1995 Martin Scorsese filmCasino. Until recently, this item was kept in a Balistrieri storage locker inthe historicShorecrest Hotelhigh-rise on Milwaukee\'s East Side, overlooking Lake Michigan.
Although I do not have written documentation that these bowls were owned by the Balistrieris, see my other listings, which include verifiable Balistrieri-family items.
Used, but no chips or cracks or discoloration noted. Colors are clean and bright. Near perfect condition. See images, which are of the actual item, not stock photos.
