Six original I.M.R. Co. N.Y. arcade exhibit cards.
3 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches each
Circa 1940s or earlier.
Each pairs a bobbed-hair flapper photo with a vaudeville-style punchline caption: the Photog and Model, the Kickers ("I'll put some of it in bonds and the rest in real estate"), the Hard Boiled boxing girls, the three Chorus Girls ("I'm the Sin in Cin-cinnati"), Lucie and Louise, and Kitty and Katty.
These cards are a time capsule of Jazz Age humor, the kind of slightly naughty gag card a sailor or teenager would get from a boardwalk machine.
Five are printed in purple tint and one in sepia.Condition is excellent with some light and normal edgewear. You won't be disappointed in these unusual pieces. From the Museum of Mom & Pop Culture Collection with Certificate of Authenticity.
