Offered is a wonderful group of six original early 20th-century business checks from Norris & Lockett of Henderson, Kentucky, dated September 1–2, 1908.

Norris & Lockett was a prominent Henderson hardware and agricultural implement dealer. These checks were drawn on Planters State Bank, Henderson, Kentucky.

Each check features an attractive period design with a large intertwined N&L monogram, ornate Norris & Lockett heading, and advertising for:

Hardware – Agricultural Implements – Seeds – Fertilizers

The reverse sides retain original endorsements and period bank processing/cancellation stamps from 1908.

Norris & Lockett was a real Henderson hardware and agricultural implement business. Local history records show that the firm moved into its three-story building at 120 N. Elm Street in 1906, just two years before your checks were written. The business evolved through several names over the years and ultimately became associated with Norris Hardware/Ace
