Subjects include Bridal Veil, Silver Cascade, Natural Well, Minnehaha Falls, and a Chippewa Falls/rocky landscape view. Several cards retain the Upton/Fearon series printing and extensive Minnesota and Northwestern Views catalogues on the reverse.
Of particular interest, the photographs contain numbers within the photographic images themselves, characteristic of Upton\'s numbered negatives. Institutional Upton examples in the Library of Congress similarly retain numbers photographed into the image. The exact relationship between these negative numbers and the publisher\'s catalogue sequence has not been completely established.
One card bears an unusual “CHIPPEWA WEDDING” Upton label on its reverse, describing Upton\'s series of photographs made among the Sioux, Chippewa and Winnebago. The photograph on the front is a scenic Chippewa Falls view and does not depict a wedding or Native American subjects; the reverse label therefore appears to have been incorrectly applied to this card during the period. An interesting production/publishing anomaly.
Original albumen photographs on period stereograph mounts. Condition varies, with age toning, fading, spotting, mount wear and other expected signs of age. Undine Basin has a noticeable area of image loss/abrasion. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition.

Upton material of this period is well represented institutionally: the Library of Congress dates examples published by Fearon to 1867–1875, while Yale documents R. N. Fearon as publisher of “Upton\'s Minnesota and Northwestern Views.”
