Beautiful set of five antique French porcelain pot de crème cups with matching lids, believed to be 19th century and consistent with Old Paris porcelain.
A stunning surviving collection of early French tableware, wonderful for an Old Paris porcelain collection or displayed with antique ironstone and whiteware.
These charming little covered custard cups feature paneled/faceted bodies, pedestal feet, delicate curled scroll handles, domed lids, and wonderful flower-form finials.
The pure white porcelain is especially beautiful and versatile. Several pieces also have scattered tiny dark “vanilla bean” speckles characteristic of their age and early manufacture.
CONDITION:
Antique condition with expected age and imperfections.
One cup has a beautiful prominent old stained fracture, Its lid has two chips: one along the rim and one to the flower finial.
One additional lid has a subtle, stable fracture across the lid.
A couple of the cups have very small flea bites/nicks along the bottom foot rims.
Other minor variations, speckling and signs of age are present throughout. Please view all photographs closely as part of the condition description.
