4 early MAD MAGAZINES from 1950's #30, 31, 33, 39 - Read Descriptions below:
$99.99

These are 4 very early copies of Mad Magazine from 1956 to 1958, with varying defects described below. Includes the very first appearance of Alfred E. Neuman as the official mascot of Mad on its cover. Although I'm not a professional grader, I'd grade them as follows. PLEASE SEE THE PICTURES. #30 - INCOMPLETE. The centerfold is missing so I can't give this a real grade. If the centerfold was there it would probably be in the Good/Very Good range, as there's quite a bit of wear to the spine, which was repaired with some small pieces of tape on the inside covers some time ago. There's moderate wear and creasing of the covers and the pages are in nice shape with some creasing.#31 - GOOD/VERY GOOD - There's moderate wear and creasing to both covers with some tearing of the spine and around the staples. The cover is still attached. There is a small cut on the spine which goes through the copy. Light handwriting on cover. A slight bend to the copy. The centerfold has been reinforced with a tiny bit of unobtrusive tape at the staples. A couple small tears of the pages which are otherwise in good shape. Small tear top left corner of back cover.#33 - GOOD/VERY GOOD - Light to moderate wear and creasing to both covers with some tearing of the spine and around the staples, a larger tear at the bottom staple. Cover is still attached. A slight bend to the copy. The centerfold has been reinforced with tiny bit of unobtrusive tape at the staples. Pages in nice shape.#39 - GOOD PLUS. This copy was restapled a long time ago it seems, with the staples adjacent to the old staple areas, so the inside binding a bit tighter than it should be. Otherwise light to moderate wear and creasing of both covers with a small tear in the middle area of the front cover. Some small tears of the spine. Pages are in nice shape.
