A beautifully illustrated collection of children\'s poetry by Leib Kvitko (1890–1952), the important Soviet Jewish poet who originally wrote in Yiddish.
Published in Moscow by Children\'s Literature (Detskaya Literatura), 1987. The poems are presented in Russian translation from Yiddish. The volume contains translations by several noted Soviet poets and writers.
A particularly attractive feature of this edition is its extensive artwork by Vladimir Konashevich, one of the great masters of Russian and Soviet children\'s book illustration. Additional illustrations are by Anatoly Itkin.
