Up for sale is a nice lot of three vintage patented pliers/nippers. All patented and manufactured by William Schollhorn Co. of New Haven, CT. Made in the USA. Includes the following;
- extra long 11 1/2" W. Schollhorn Bernard patent compound joint diagonal cutters/nippers. Patented 6/17/1913 and 12/14/15. 7/8" cutting jaws.
- Sargent & Co. 5 1/4" Bernard diagonal cutter/nipper. Sargent bought Schollhorn in 1948.
- LODI 5" length side cutting pliers. Often described as fishing pliers. Also manufactured by William Schollhorn. Patented 9/25/1894. Patented renewed 11/6/1900.
All 3 work beautifully. The Bernard and Sargent nippers are in excellent condition and work beautifully. The original nickel plated finish is 90% intact on the long nippers and 100% on the Sargent. The Sargent has the stamp of the initials of a prior owner near the joint. The LODI pliers are in great shape with some wear from use. Some light marring of the jaws.
