Lot of 3 vintage Sir Walter Raleigh gummed cigarette rolling paper booklets produced for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation of Louisville, Kentucky.
These colorful orange, black and cream booklets feature the classic Sir Walter Raleigh portrait with pipe and the advertising slogan:
“Sooner or Later Your Favorite Tobacco”
Reverse advertising reads “Sir Walter Raleigh Tobacco – Who Discovered How Good a Pipe Can Be” and identifies Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp., Louisville, Kentucky.
Believed to date approximately to the 1930s–1940s based on the advertising design and period use of the Sir Walter Raleigh slogans.
All three booklets retain rolling papers inside. Papers have not been individually counted and completeness is not guaranteed.
Vintage condition with age-related toning, handling and edge wear. Two booklets have areas of paper/surface loss, most noticeably around the illustrated portrait and/or label areas. One example is notably cleaner. Graphics remain bold and attractive overall.
