3 Sets Valentin Serov Art 40 Soviet Postcards USSR 1965-1968 Vintage For Sale

A substantial three-set vintage collection devoted to Valentin Serov — 40 Soviet art postcards covering his portraits, landscapes and some of his best-known works, including Girl with Peaches, Girl Lit by the Sun and portraits of Levitan, Korovin and Leskov.

Three vintage Soviet postcard sets devoted to the work of Valentin Serov (1865–1911), one of the major Russian painters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The lot contains 40 postcards in three original folders, published by Sovetsky Khudozhnik (Soviet Artist), Moscow, between 1965 and 1968.

Together, the three sets provide an unusually broad survey of Serov’s work: portraits, family studies, landscapes, scenes from Abramtsevo and Domotkanovo, and portraits of major figures of Russian cultural life.
