Collectible three-piece vintage British Grenadier Guards Uniform with wool red tunic, pants and leather belt. Tunic with the grenade fired collar badge, evenly spaced buttons and the royal cypher on the shoulders.
Jacket with original tag, though difficult to read, shoulder to shoulder 17", sleeve length 27.5", length 29.5" Per tag: chest: 39", waist 33", pants (size M) 31" inseam, 42 1/4" outer seam, approximately 26" waist, belt adjustable
Note staining to the front of the jacket, a few spots on the back and interior, jacket and pants are a bit musty and would benefit from cleaning, wear to belt, please see all photos.
The 1st or 'Grenadier' Regiment of Foot Guards was formed in Bruges in 1656 to protect King Charles II during his exile and was to become the King's Regiment of Foot Guards following the Restoration in 1660.
Members of the regiment wear a white plume made from horsehair and it is worn on the left side of their bearskin caps; officers' plumes are slightly larger.
Grenadiers' tunic buttons are spaced evenly, and they wear a 'grenade fired' on their collar and the Royal cypher on their epaulettes.
