3 John K Hillers US Geological Survey Prints Kaibab Plateau Canyon Powell Survey For Sale

A group of three archival photographic prints after images by John K. Hillers, produced from plates made during the 19th-century surveys of the American West under John Wesley Powell.

These prints depict canyon and plateau landscapes of the American Southwest, including views of the Kaibab Plateau and surrounding terrain. Hillers served as a principal photographer for the U.S. Geological Survey expeditions, documenting geological formations, routes, and field conditions across the region.

Each print retains strong tonal range and clarity, characteristic of later gelatin silver prints produced from historic survey negatives.

Included in this group:

• Hillers JK 95 — Canyon landscape, Kaibab Plateau (landscape orientation)
• Hillers JK 72 — Camp scene, Kaibab Plateau, Arizona (portrait orientation)
• Hillers JK 1022 — Canyon landscape study (smaller format)

“Hillers” appears within the image area on the larger prints.
