The Ogham Staves
These are beautiful handmade ogham staves made with well seasoned English Yew wood. The set includes the forfedha - 5 extra staves that were added to the ogham alphabet significantly later than the original 20 letters. Some people work with these in divination, some people don\'t
The Staves were first lightly sanded to remove any loose bark, a section of bark was then removed and then pyrographed (burnt) with the ogham symbol, making them much harder wearing than staves that are just painted.
Each stave is about 2.5 inches in length - they do vary slightly in length and diameter since they\'re all cut by hand - these sets are very slender.
The ogham is a celtic alphabet/divination system, based on 20 or 25 native British trees. It is used in much the same way as runes.
The set will come with an information sheet to get you started (be aware that this does NOT include information on the forfedha), and a free bag made from recycled or reclaimed fabric.
