Offered for sale is an outstanding and highly collectible 2006 W.R. Case & Sons Case XX Case Collectors Club 25th Anniversary Life Member Annual Club Knife.
This special knife is the Genuine Burnt Stag Grand Daddy Barlow, pattern 5143 SS, produced as the 2006 Life Member Annual Club Knife celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Case Collectors Club, 1981–2006.
The official Case Collectors Club Annual Knife checklist identifies this exact knife as:
Year: 2006
Membership Level: Life Member
Item No.: 07540
Pattern: 5143 SS
Model: Grand Daddy Barlow
Handle: Genuine Burnt Stag
Original Club Price: $89.00
This example includes its original Case 25th Anniversary presentation tin, original packaging/insert and Certificate of Authenticity.
Original Certificate of Authenticity
One of the strongest features of this particular example is the inclusion of its original Case Collectors Club 25th Anniversary Certificate of Authenticity, dated 5/06.
The COA identifies the knife as the:
2006 Life Member Annual Club Knife
and states that the Stag Grand Daddy Barlow (5143 SS) made its debut as the Case Collectors Club 2006 Life Member knife.
The certificate further documents the knife\'s:
Genuine Burnt Stag handles
Exclusive Case Collectors Club shield
Case Long Tail C serialization on the bolster
Mirror-polished Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel Clip blade
Case Collectors Club 25th Anniversary artwork
The certificate also states that these knives were available only to Case Collectors Club members.
Case Collectors Club 25th Anniversary — 1981–2006
This special knife was produced in 2006 to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Case Collectors Club.
The anniversary dates:
1981 – 2006
are prominently incorporated into the commemorative presentation packaging and blade artwork.
Case\'s official checklist confirms three individual membership-level knives for 2006:
Junior Member — Genuine Burnt Stag Barlow, Item #07538
Regular Member — Genuine Burnt Stag Razor, Item #07539
Life Member — Genuine Burnt Stag Grand Daddy Barlow, Item #07540
The Life Member Grand Daddy Barlow was the most expensive of the three individual knives when originally offered by the club.
Genuine Burnt Stag
Unlike jigged bone made to resemble stag, this knife features:
GENUINE BURNT STAG
The natural stag scales display excellent character with cream, golden, brown and dark burnt coloration.
Because genuine stag is a natural handle material, each knife has its own individual texture, coloration and character.
The stag on this example is particularly attractive and displays strong dark bark transitioning into lighter cream/golden coloration near the bolster.
Case 5143 SS Grand Daddy Barlow
The knife uses Case\'s large traditional Grand Daddy Barlow pattern:
5143 SS
The 5 prefix is Case\'s traditional genuine-stag handle designation.
This is a large single-blade traditional folding knife with a long Clip blade, substantial handle and extended front bolster characteristic of the Grand Daddy Barlow pattern.
Special 25th Anniversary Blade Etch
The highly polished blade carries the special commemorative artwork:
1981
25TH ANNIVERSARY
2006
LIFE MEMBER
This is an important feature that immediately distinguishes the knife from a standard-production Case 5143 SS Grand Daddy Barlow.
The Case Collectors Club documentation also confirms the anniversary artwork used on these knives.
Exclusive CCC Shield
The genuine stag handle carries the special:
CCC / CASE COLLECTORS CLUB SHIELD
rather than an ordinary production Case shield.
That shield is another important visual identifier of the annual club issue.
Serialized Long Tail C Bolster
The Certificate of Authenticity specifically documents Case Long Tail C serialization on the bolster.
This is a collector feature worth photographing closely.
Please refer to the photographs for the individual serialization on this exact knife.
I would not type a serial number into the listing unless you can read it clearly from a close-up.
Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel
The knife has a mirror-polished Case Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel Clip blade.
The combination of the large polished Clip blade and anniversary etching gives this knife a particularly impressive display appearance.
Complete Collector Package
Included are:
2006 Case XX Life Member Grand Daddy Barlow 5143 SS
Original Case Collectors Club 25th Anniversary presentation tin
Original 2006 Annual Club Knife presentation sleeve/insert
Original Certificate of Authenticity dated 5/06
Having the knife, special packaging and COA together is a significant advantage for a collector.

ConditionExcellent Collector Condition / New Old Stock — Complete With Tin & COA
This knife appears to be in excellent collector condition and presents as new old stock.
The large mirror-polished blade appears extremely clean and bright, and the special 1981–2006 25th Anniversary Life Member artwork remains crisp and highly visible.
The genuine Burnt Stag handle displays excellent natural character and coloration. I do not see an obvious major crack, chip or missing section of stag in the photographs.
The special CCC shield and engraved/serialized bolster also present nicely.
The knife includes the original Case 25th Anniversary presentation tin, original packaging and Certificate of Authenticity dated 5/06.
The packaging may show minor shelf/storage wear consistent with age.
Please examine all photographs carefully. Photographs are considered part of the description and show the exact knife, tin, packaging and Certificate of Authenticity the buyer will receive.
