There is also documented Case collector information showing #00785 was one of five patterns selected for Case\'s 2000 Year 111 Shield promotion, with 500 examples of each pattern made for that specific promotion.
However, the original box accompanying this exact knife is dated 04/19/2001.
Because of that date and the LIMITED XX EDITION blade etch, I would describe the knife exactly as photographed rather than automatically claiming it is one of the 500 Year 111 promotional knives unless the shield/tang markings positively establish that particular variation.
That distinction protects the listing from overclaiming while still giving knowledgeable Case collectors the information they need.

This knife appears to be in excellent collector condition and presents as new old stock.
The polished blade appears exceptionally clean and bright. The LIMITED XX EDITION blade etching remains crisp and highly visible.
I do not see obvious evidence in the photographs of heavy use, significant sharpening or abuse.
The Pocket Worn Old Red Bone handle scales appear clean and display a very dark, rich coloration. Depending upon lighting, the Old Red Bone can appear burgundy, dark red, brown or nearly black.
I don\'t see an obvious major crack, chip or missing section of bone in the supplied photographs.
The shield, bolsters and pins also present nicely.
The original Case XX Pocket Worn factory box is included. It retains its factory identification label for Item #00785 / 61953L SS / RussLock / Old Red / Pocket Worn, dated 04/19/01.
The box shows normal shelf/storage wear consistent with age.
