Two Vintage Heinold’s “Square Deal” Dog Food Advertising Playing-Card Decks
Two unusual advertising decks produced for Heinold Elevator Co. of Kouts, Indiana, promoting Heinold’s Fortified Square Deal Dog Food.
These are pinochle decks, consisting of duplicate 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace cards in each suit.
One complete 48-card deck
One 45-card deck missing three cards
One deck has a slightly gold-colored back
The other has a slightly silver-colored back
Both decks are housed in heavily worn Remembrance Playing Cards boxes. These do not appear to be the original boxes. Heinold advertising cards or panels appear to have been taped over the exteriors of the repurposed boxes.
Condition: Both decks are well worn from age, storage and use, with discoloration, soiling, edge wear and general handling wear. The boxes have extensive wear, old tape, surface loss, creasing and separation. Please examine all photographs for the overall condition and contents.
