Historical & Era Notes (Circa 1930s):
This authentic haberdashery piece dates back to the 1930s Art Deco era. It features the term "Rayonne", a textile classification standardized in France in 1924, alongside classic 1930s commercial typography.
The ribbon is labeled as a "Bretelle Tubulaire" (Tubular Strap), which was a highly popular specialty notion during the interwar period. French women purchased these non-rolling, silky cords to customize or replace the straps on their delicate Art Deco slip dresses and lingerie at home. The beautifully illustrated card makes it a stunning piece of 20th-century fashion history!
