Vintage BOMA Delft Blue animated windmill music box pair handcrafted in Holland. This matching set of two Dutch ceramic windmill music boxes features classic Delft Blue floral decoration, embossed tile roofs, rotating metal windmill blades, and mechanical wind-up musical movements. Both music boxes play the same traditional Dutch melody, "Tulips From Amsterdam." One windmill retains its original animated spinning blades while the second music box plays correctly but its blades no longer rotate during operation.
A wonderful display set for Delftware collectors, Dutch folk art enthusiasts, windmill collectors, music box collections, or anyone decorating a farmhouse, cottage, or European-inspired home.
Produced by BOMA Holland, each windmill is hand-decorated in traditional Delft Blue style with glazed ceramic construction and metal windmill sails marked "BOMA" and "Made in Holland." Original BOMA Delft's Blauw foil labels remain present. One windmill is marked "ST. MAARTEN," making it a desirable Caribbean Dutch souvenir variation. The music mechanism is labeled "Tulips Amsterdam," referencing the beloved Dutch folk tune commonly found in quality vintage souvenir music boxes.
Condition: Very good vintage condition overall with light age-related wear consistent with display and use. Both music boxes wind and play properly. One windmill features fully animated rotating blades during playback, while the second windmill's blades remain stationary although the music mechanism functions normally. Original BOMA labels remain attached with expected wear from age. Please review all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
