These two vintage charms were removed from the gold charm bracelet my mother in law received when she pledged Delta Delta Delta sorority at the University of Southern California (USC). She graduated in 1951, and I believe she pledged in 1949. I am keeping many other charms from the bracelet, but since I was never a Tri Delt, I\'ve decided to let the ones specific to the sorority go so someone who is a member can enjoy them. (In addition to these, there are a couple other Delta Delta Delta charms; they are also being listed at this time, so check my other listings if you are interested.)
I brought the bracelet to a reputable jeweler in my town, who removed all of the charms from the bracelet, and also tested them (acid test). He advised me that the charm shown here with three triangles stacked vertically is 14K gold, and the loop attached at the top, from which it hung on the bracelet, is also 14K. It measures about 5/8\" long.
The second charm is not gold, but a gold-tone metal with what appear to be white enamel accents. The loop from which it hangs is 14K gold. This one is a sort of star/flower shape with triangles in the center. It measures a bit over 1/2\" long.
From the nonsmoking estate of the original owner.
