Pair of original antique stereoview photographs depicting Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
The first is an attractive blue-mounted stereoview captioned “Cornell University Buildings from Sage College.” The reverse features an extensive period advertisement listing stereographic views available from an Ithaca photographer, including numerous Cornell University buildings, residences and Ithaca-area landmarks.
The second is a yellow-mounted view captioned “Cornell University, Ithaca.” It is from the American Scenery – 1776 Centennial Series, 1876 and bears the imprint of De Young’s Palace Dollar Store, 704 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.
A particularly nice pair of early Cornell University photographic views on two distinctly different period mounts.
Antique condition with expected age-related toning, staining/soiling, edge and corner wear and general surface wear. The yellow card has pencil writing/marks on the reverse. The cards are currently housed in protective sleeves, which may produce some reflections in the photographs. Please examine all photos carefully for condition.
