Lot of 2 original antique wedding photographs featuring incredible 1920s & 1930s bridal fashion, both still in their original period presentation folders.These aren’t just old wedding photos — the clothing is phenomenal.The earlier portrait appears to date to the 1920s. The bride wears a traditional long gown and veil with an enormous cascading bouquet, while the women beside her show off the dramatically shorter hemlines of the Jazz Age — complete with wonderful hats, shoes and period accessories. Nearly 100 years later, it’s a fantastic snapshot of how daring women’s fashion had become.This photograph remains in its elaborate original RUBICON folding/easel presentation folder with embossed decoration, shaped edges and a wonderful die-cut wedding bell design on the reverse. The location and photographer for this image are unknown.The second portrait appears to date to the 1930s and the women’s fashions are equally striking. Long, body-skimming gowns are topped with dramatic sculptural collars and shoulder treatments, while the bride wears a long gown and veil and carries a large bouquet.This photograph is studio marked:RABBASS – WEST POINT, NEBR.The Rabbass attribution adds a wonderful Nebraska and women’s-business-history connection. Rabbass Studio in West Point was operated by professional photographer Alma Rabbass, whose younger brother Harold later joined her in the photography business. The individual photographer who took this particular portrait is unknown, so I am not attributing the photograph itself specifically to Alma.Both photographs are large-format original studio portraits and remain in their period presentation folders.CONDITION: These photographs and folders are approximately 90–100+ years old and show age appropriate wear. The presentation folders have toning, spotting/discoloration, surface wear, edge and corner wear and other signs of age/storage. The photographs remain striking and highly displayable.
